Civil society organisations under the Kasa Initiative Gender and Climate Platform have issued a communiqué on Ghana’s 2026 National and Mid-Year Budget, commending increased investment in climate action, gender equality and social protection while calling for those commitments to be matched by delivery.
The organisations urged government to translate budget commitments into transparent, adequately funded and accountable programmes with measurable outcomes — outcomes that improve the resilience and livelihoods of women, youth, persons with disabilities and other climate-vulnerable communities.
The communiqué follows a series of consultations convened with women-led and climate-focused CSOs, supported by SIGRA, to strengthen civil society participation in national budget processes.
