Good planning begins with good data.

SIGRA held a capacity-building session in Akatsi North District in the Volta Region on the collection, analysis, reporting and use of sex, age and gender-disaggregated data, in support of more inclusive and evidence-based district planning.

The session focused on helping district teams move beyond general numbers to understand who benefits, who may be excluded, and why. Participants discussed how disaggregated data can improve gender-responsive planning, budgeting, implementation and reporting, particularly in relation to climate adaptation and inclusive service delivery.

The training also provided practical guidance on using data to identify the needs of women, men, youth, persons with disabilities and vulnerable groups, and to strengthen decision-making in Annual Action Plans and Composite Budgets. Similar sessions form part of SIGRA’s ongoing support to partner districts.
