SIGRA, in partnership with Farm Radio Ghana, convened a CSO/CBO capacity building and multi-stakeholder content design workshop in Keta in the Volta Region and Tamale in the Northern Region.
The workshop brought together 27 participants, including 21 women, to strengthen the capacity of local women-led CSOs and CBOs to communicate climate change issues, promote adaptation action, and contribute to the design of a short radio programme series for community awareness.
Participatory sessions explored climate challenges affecting participants’ communities — water scarcity, flooding, deforestation, soil infertility, food insecurity, migration, displacement and rising temperatures — alongside adaptive measures, gender-responsive communication, and how to use radio and other platforms to encourage positive behaviour change.
The workshop contributed to the development of content for a six-episode radio programme for the two regions.
